CHINESE EXPORT SILVER TEA SET - CUP & SAUCER - c1890 KH, SHANGHAI. A fine, late 19th century Chinese export silver tea cup & saucer. Signed for the Shanghai work shop of KH. This maker is noted in Chan's (2005) text book on export silver.

Both cup and saucer with hand carved scenes of exotic birds. Perched in and flying above flowering prunus branch.

The cup with tapering notches S shape handle. The Chinese export silver tea cup is 3 3/4 inches and. The matching saucer 5 5/8 inches set weighs just under 8 1/2 standard ounces. Rich silver patina, retains most all original detail. Interior of the cup retains gold wash. The cup is hallmarked as shown.
