Antique Chinese Famille Rose Medallion Porcelain Tea Pot Cup Set with Woven Basket

Please see the additional 21 pictures we embedded below the description. We do not see any manufacturers marks on the item. We believe the basket is made of a woven wicker rattan-type material although we are unsure. We do not see any manufacturers marks on the pieces and are unsure as to how old the set is, though judging by its features and lack of markings we believe it to date from around the 1880s. The teapot, teacup, and teapot lid that seconds as a saucer appear to be made of porcelain and/or china. The items have aging, discoloration, scratches, nicks, dirty and/or dusty areas, wear to the paint, small chips around the bases and rims, and other manufacturing imperfections. The set appears to be free of any cracks or repairs. The teapot stands roughly 5 in height not including the handles.

The base of the teapot measures roughly 4 1/2 in diameter. The teapot has 2 wire handles that are wrapped in a thread-type material. The lid/saucer measures roughly 2 15/16 in diameter and is just about 9/16 in height. The teacup measures roughly 2 in height and has a top opening that measures roughly 2 11/16 in diameter.

The combined weight of the set is roughly 2 lbs 13 oz. The woven basket has 2 brass handles, 2 brass ring-type hinges, and a brass front latch lock closure.

The brass components have aging, discoloration, scratches, nicks, and oxidation. The basket has aging, discoloration, dirty and/or stained areas, scratches, nicks, dings, heavy wear to the varnish and/or finish, broken and/or missing wicker pieces, and bending and/or warping. The top inner wicker band that surrounds the padded insert has come loose and is separated from the main basket. This component also has broken pieces of wicker in several areas.

The inner padded component has heavy discoloration, fading, wear, tears, holes, and dirty and/or stained areas. The basket measures roughly 9 1/2 x 6 3/4 x 5 3/4 at its furthest points and in the closed position.
