6 Vintage Royal Copenhagen Aluminia Faience Nils tea cup set with teapot
6 Vintage Royal Copenhagen Aluminia Faience Trios & Teapot. This beautiful set is in lovely condition.
The set is in the pattern Nils, designed by Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen Aluminia Faience. It features a two tone pretty sage green colour with a stylized leafy motif, scalloped handles and scalloped line trim. There are 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 plates, a sugar bowl and lid, a large cake plate and a teapot and lid.Each piece is marked to the back with the early Aluminia Faience beehive mark with various date markings for the mid-late 1950's. There is no damage to the pieces. There is no rubbing or scuffing to the porcelain, it is glossy and smooth. The teapot has fine crazing all over with some light staining to the crazing as shown. The staining occurs to the bottom half of the teapot.
In general viewing it is not noticed but is evident on closer inspection. The teapot still presents well. The plates are 154mm across, the saucers are 138mm across and the tea cups 75mm across the rims and 65mm tall. The large cake plate is around 240mm across. Please note this item is original and not a copy or modern day reproduction. For Imperial measurement users a handy guide is 25mm. Or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
