This listing is for an extraordinary Nippon chocolate pot with coordinating tea cup and saucer, circa 1890s. This antique 4-piece set is sure to impress with its heavy moriage, stippling/beading, and hand-painted details. Each exquisite, highly-stylized piece features striking purple and orange spring blossoms with green leaves set against a champagne background. This set is in very good, preowned condition with a few minor chips on the edge of the cup/saucer. The chocolate pot is in PRISTINE condition.

Each piece is marked on the underside with the Nippon blue maple leaf, which denotes production prior to 1911. With over 100 years of rich history, this stunning set will be a wonderful new addition to your Nippon collection! The chocolate pot measures approximately 9 inches tall (from base to the top of its finial), while the tea cup measures 2-1/2 inches tall with a base diameter of 2-1/8 inches. The saucer measures 5-1/8 inches in diameter.
