This set is made by the A. Cole Pottery Company in Sanford, North Carolina. All are marked with the pressed circular mark except the cup, which has the marking in 3 lines, and the large oval serving tray, which has no mark. All are in the customary green with brown under-glaze on red clay, lending an earthy down-home feeling.
The tray (almost a bowl) has 2 handles and measures 13 x 15 with a height of 3. There is a chip on the rim of one side. The teapot measures 7 tall and has a diameter of 5 3/8 There is a chip on the rim of the pot. The handle and spout are firmly attached. PLEASE NOTE: The spout is not pourable.It was sealed by the maker on the inside and will not pour liquid. The pot retains its original lid. The bean or soup pot measures 2 3/4 tall and has a diameter of 4 1/2.
The handle is firmly attached. It has a chip in its rim as well, but retains it lid.The cup stands 3 1/2 tall, and has a 3 diameter. It has a tiny chip in its lip. The two-handled sugar bowl stands 3 1/4 tall and has a diameter of 3. Likewise, it also has a chip in its rim.
The lid also has a chip and one handle is cracked in several places. Please see photos for details.
